Despite the fixture being against the Mermaids (who you would have thought would have relished playing in wet conditions), the pitch inspection at 2.30PM came back with the words "Saturated and Soggy".
For young Habib this may have been a bit of a turn on, but Ashfield didn't really fancy a load of 15 stone Water Buffalo harrumphing across the first XI pitch.
The forecast finally looks good for the week-end and next week.
