Fitmen Win Again
A Tuesday mid-week chip to Wavis, wins there are becoming as traditional as the tasty chip butties and the random way the batting order is decided
Toss lost again, so into the field, not a problem for fitmen this season. The driest spring on record is helping the best start of a season in over a decade with 4 wins out of 5.
A new shiny pink ball in the hands of Sunny and Wassem. 4 overs for 17 between them. The pressure led to the opener nicking off from the bowling of Sunny, with Timmsy taking the catch respectively.
Talking of great starts to the season, the spin of Dave and Bal created more wickets and tight economy, putting Fitmen right on top. Wickets for Jonesy's, Stevie Nicks, and another smart catch for Timmsy. Two from shovel hands, Waz and Nokia made no mistake at a well-positioned deep slip from a Tony Thapar ball.
Couldn't keep Tony out of the action, as he was nearly taken out by a Rob Nutter return throw, and Adrian's eyes burning a hole in the back of his head. 145/6 after 20 overs
Onto the batting, an excited Sam and Timmsy drew the top numbers and did well to see off the young quick bowler. Sam managed to place a boundary just past the keeper before holing out to mid-on. Timms eventually got in, hitting 2 sixes and retiring for 26. Sunny and Adrian, in fine form, dually did the same, all be it slightly quicker.
Jonesy and Steve finished off the match with no dramas. 146/1 with 5 overs to spare.
The fine addition of cheese to the chippy butties was the cherry on the cake, or vinegar on the chips...
Keep it going Fitmen, another very enjoyable eve
