Indoor League - Game 9

A Sunny Evening sees Fitmen Ninja's get back to winning ways
Alvechurch 122-4 v Fitmen 123-4 Fitmen win by 2 wickets

An 8:00 start meant there was plenty of time for the warm up (at least a minute) as Ade dropped himself for the ever reliant Nutterrr. Something about going to Northern Ireland...?

The Fitmen lost the toss and were asked to bowl first. Sunny and Rich Harris opened up and the scoreboard kept ticking over with plenty of nudged 3s. A really smart catch by Ralphie accounted for their opener, which brought another left-hander to the crease. One of the left-handers managed to get to 25 not out and only just top scored with 38, beating extras by 1 run...

Harris's last over was a self-proclaimed disaster, with at least 25 coming off it including 5 extra ball wides...enough extra balls to allow him to get 3 wickets however.

So 123 to win - openers Tom and Rich Harris started brightly with 16 coming from the first over. Harris smashed a single and a six before falling to another attempted six - straight down the guys throat at long off.

Tom weighed in with what must be described as the lowest six of the tournament hitting it just above the skirting boards...nice way to get to 22 though.

Ralphie had at least 2 lives, being "caught behind" and "clean bowled"...This brought Sunny Singh to the crease and he had to make up for a poor run of recent form - which he did first ball smashing it straight back over the bowlers head for a mighty six on his way to 25 not out...Nutter scampered a few before being clean bowled, which brought Sunny back to the crease - Fitmen needed plenty off not a lot. Cue Sunny Six Machine as he smashed 3 on the bounce to take the required rate down to a run-a-ball. Tuckerrr chipped in with a cameo 17 not out nudging 3s here and there but it was Sunny's night smashing 51 not out off only 18 balls, ensuring the Fitmen raced home with only 2 balls to spare.

A classic Sunny Special!

Bring on WCB to end the 6-a-side season...
